Little Waves album cover illustrated by Ciaee

                                                                                     http://ciaee-art.com/

Songs titles on the new Glass Audrey album include "Swim" and "Clocks Slow Down".   This is the cover artwork for the album. The image is an original illustration by artist Ciaee.
I discovered the art of Ciaee via a Google search for carp images. There were many images of carp and water and many were lovely, but nothing was striking me; then from the lower right corner of my search page this vibrant soft image caught my eye. Once I focused on it, I gasped out loud, I was immediately drawn to the whimsical  fish and the girl....then I saw it.  The Clock ! I didn't even see the clock at first, or second glance at that point. I almost cried.... what!?
It's titled * " The Dance of a Child Escapes Time." * (another wave of euphoria I felt at that point). So the search page that I was on did not have links to the artist, after a few minutes of intense research I found Ciaee's contact info, drafted an email explaining how moved I was by her work and how it feels like a visual of our music. I sent Ciaee a link to By Now- music.glassaudrey.com/track/by-now. I am so happy to say within a few days I had permission from Ciaee too use her image, " The Dance of a Child Escapes Time" as Album Artwork for "Little Waves" by Glass Audrey. Album coming Summer 2011.

Filming music video shorts in the Cleveland metroparks. Part 1

If you live in Cleveland, Ohio then you know about our metroparks! http://www.clemetparks.com/
If you are not from or have not been to Cleveland, let me tell you about our little escape from the city. Imagine your city, any major city then try to imagine a valley full of trees and a flowing river that sits 500 ft below the city. There is one major road "valley parkway" that starts about 2 miles south of Lake Erie and winds back and forth, with the natural geography, southwest and eventually southeast all the way to Akron. It's like the first subway, in the way that you can enter or exit the valley at numerous points along it's path and follow the major road to get from point a to b. But, while enjoying the most scenic route. Of course the valley is for way more than scenic drives. There are tons of organizations and hiking groups, activities, music, swimming, chilling, notorious frisbee, dog walks, soccer games, sun bathing, people running, biking, couples walking together, stopping by the swings, fishing, picnics, late night drives, I could go on. So these are the metroparks, they are great and I live 2minutes from one entrance way. Down a hill with about a 45 degree angle for just a minute, immediately surrounded by nature, trees older much older then us reach up to the sky,as I descend the hill, then a quick turn onto valley parkway. From here, for the past few days I have met with a friend, amazingly talented with his video cam. We have shot some amazing nighttime footage of me playing original songs in a few different locations. Just
finished shooting some tonight( the waterfalls in Berea). Thank you the metroparks for
providing such an inspiring location. Video coming soon. Listen to original songs now at music.glassaudrey.com

An album called Little Waves

Little Waves is the new album's title. Little Waves is one of my 14 favorite songs on the album. It's soft and eerie,  the feeling is well captured, the arrangement is full of nuance, and the mix is both appropriately gentle and a little edgy.  Want to hear it? You can soon. Release date sometime early Summer 2011. So more about Little Waves being the album title...I remember the moment I wrote these lyrics (from little waves) "you come and go, little waves over my toes" ...."a constant tide of highs and lows, you never stay and you always know the moon calls and you crawl back home". I was sitting at the same desk I am now, thinking about relationships and the sadness that happens when the connection is broken, and the nature of cycles, waves, wavelengths of energy that we all are... Thinking about 'games' we play with each other...that men and women have played for so long.... the push and the pull..... and that is a lyric from another song "Bridges" "push me now so I can pull" ...So. Clearly I find this theme of tension and release in many aspects life and when writing Little Waves it just came pouring out from both my fingers onto my guitar and into these lyrics that fell into the melody, and it was different than anything else I had done before. When thinking about all the titles of songs on the album and of course what each song expresses, it was a close call with Little Waves and another track (not going to tell you). I felt Little Waves was the one.
If anyone  super cool is reading this you are aware of the Tori Amos album called
Little Earthquakes...it's true I love her music, and she is a huge inspiration. When I titled
Little Waves (the song) I was not thinking of her song or album.  It did not occur
to me until I decided on it as the album title that one could infer homage to Tori, and
please infer...though it is not a direct intention to do so.  I will add that Tori Amos
is brilliant and her music is amazing and sure subconsciously maybe...anyway :)  The
Glass Audrey album Little Waves is coming soon. Thanks for reading. Listen or download original music at music.glassaudrey.com
